"Behavioral Health: Fixing a System in Crisis"

Posted by Signature Care Management Team on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in In The News

In a recent Modern Healthcare Special Report "Behavioral Health: Fixing a System in Crisis," Signature's Maternity Care Home Model was highlighted as a program successfully addressing behavioral health and improving outcomes. The Special Report highlights the current mental health care crisis, solutions that are working, and legislative challenges to addressing behavioral health needs. Signature is proud to be a leading example for addressing behavioral health in maternity care and to serve as a model for expanding behavioral health in the perinatal period. By identifying and addressing needs including environmental, mental, and physical, that pregnant Medicaid beneficiaries are experiencing, we have reduced our premature birth rate, NICU stays, and Medicaid costs. As the Special Report highlights, it is becoming increasingly important to address behavioral health concerns as healthcare transitions from fee-for-service to value-based care. Signature's Maternity Care Home Model is highlighted in the second major section of the Special Report “Going With What Works.”
